WAIT: DID YOU ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS FOR 2018?

Yes! It’s the last day of the year! The 365th day of the year 2018! Just like yesterday, the year started and in a few hours from now, the whole world will be celebrating the coming in of another year. It’s really amazing how time flies, and as they say, it waits for no man. 2018 is winding down and I think we all should be grateful for being alive to witness the end of it.

However, in case you haven’t done so, I believe this last day of the year is a good time to take stock of the year 2018. How well did you fare in the year? Were you able to accomplish all of your goals? If you did, then I congratulate you—you have really done well. If you did not, what kept you from achieving your goals? Was it procrastination, doubt, fear, excuses, lack of focus, laziness, wrong strategy, environment, poor time management, doing many things at the same time, lack of mentorship, or unforeseen circumstances?

50 DAYS IS MORE THAN ENOUGH

The end of the year is almost here. If you take a minute to check out your calendar, you would see that it's exactly 50 days to the end of 2018. "How time flies" you may say. 315 days gone already out of the 365 and you can bet that that is how the remaining days of the year will pass away in no time.

This observation then brings to mind an important question: how far have you gone in achieving your goals for 2018?

7 THINGS BEING DILIGENT WILL DO FOR YOU

"You really have to work hard and apply yourself, and by applying yourself and working hard and being diligent, you can achieve success." - Julie Benz.

There are lots of factors responsible for success in life: dreaming big, setting goals, following your dreams, determination, self-confidence, discipline, and so on. All these factors must come into place before anyone can achieve success. However, there is one factor which is central to attaining success and upon which the effectiveness of the other factors depends; and that is diligence.

Diligence, according to dictionary.com, is a constant and earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken. In other words, it is a consistent and continuous effort which a person must deliberately put into whatever he or she does in order to have a great result. It, therefore, suffices to say that no meaningful accomplishment can be made without diligence; and that is particularly true, as the huge role diligence play can be clearly seen in the world of science, business, academics, sports, and any other human endeavor that one can think of. Antiphanes sums this up when he stated that "everything yields to diligence."

10 TIPS TO HELP YOU MAKE MONEY FROM THE STREETS

One indisputable fact is that not everyone will secure a white-collar job. The issue of unemployment plaguing many countries makes it difficult to get any job at all, let alone such being a white-collar one. In such a situation, there are two options open to an individual: he either keeps searching endlessly for a job, or he creates one for himself. Yes, creating a job for yourself is the antidote to that challenge of unemployment you are presently faced with. And believe me, even if you have a place where you work, nothing compares to being your own boss.

However, I know that starting a job or business of your own can be very challenging, especially when one considers the needed capital; but that should not stop you from being your own boss as there are lots of profitable businesses that can be done on a small scale. There are lots of services you can render to people around you, and make good money in return. Businesses like Photography, Barbing/hair Salon, Catering services, Fashion designing, Shoe making, etc., are services that are always needed, and which you can start with little capital. All you need do is hit the streets and meet the needs of people.

WHEN THE CHIPS ARE DOWN...

"When the chips are down, you are given the chance to find the strength you never knew you had and put it toward the greater good. Or go over to the dark side. You know, if that's how you roll." - Jessica Lave

Life, they say is not a bed of roses. Everyone is bound to face challenging situations at some point in time. Such challenges come irrespective of our class, pedigree, or status in the society, and most times, they leave us frustrated and depressed. Meeting oneself in a difficult situation is however not as important as the reaction to such situations. A person's response to unfavourable circumstances is what could ultimately make or mar him. How then does one navigate through the challenges that life consistently throws around? What do you have to do when difficult situations seems to be overwhelming you? And what is the next step to take when the chips are down? The answer to these questions have I provided in the following five (5) points.

WINNING WITH TIME

Hello my dear readers.

Today's post is a wonderful article which I got from the Facebook Timeline of David Adeoye. Although it was written about a month ago, it caught my attention because the things he discussed can be applied to our lives at any given point in time. I believe you my readers can learn one or two things from it. Enjoy it...

For many individuals with an interest in specific knowledge pursuits (academic or professional educational), I am pleased to share with you a process and approach that I have tested and found to be effective in handling mentally tasking initiatives despite other demands on ones time (including work and commuting).
It was the late management sage, Peter F. Drucker (1909-2005), that said in one of his books that "the limits of any process are set by the scarcest resource". He continued that "in the enterprise called knowledge work, this scarcest resource is time."

WHY YOU FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE IN YOURSELF (Part 2)

"If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride - and never quit, you'll be a winner. The price of victory is high but so are the rewards." - Paul Bryant

Good day my dear readers, trust you are very fine. I bring to you the concluding part of the last post. In case you are yet to read Part 1 of the Why you find it difficult to believe in yourself post, you can read it here  Now let's consider the number 3 factor which can prevent a person from believing in himself or herself.

3. PAST EXPERIENCES OF FAILURE

This factor is perhaps the mother factor when talking about the causes of a lack of self-confidence in oneself. This is so because almost all the other factors that one might think of have their root cause in a past experience of failure. Take for instance the two other factors we had earlier discussed: Fear in most cases comes from a bad experience that a person has had, or a bad experience that had happened to another person which we know about. This creates in us the feeling that a similar thing could happen to us if we meet ourselves in a similar situation. Also, one of the causes of a low self-esteem is a failure that had been experienced in the past - we said something about this in the last post, but perhaps, we can now get to understand it better.
